Cleaning Pros loved CBE 2019!

“I attended the inaugural Clean Buildings Expo (CBE) along with 2 of my custodial supervisors with an eye to exposing them to the breadth of the industry. As a member of the Healthy Schools Campaign's Green Cleaning Steering Committee and ISSA member, I have become well acquainted with the state of our industry. As aspiring leaders in my school division, I knew they would benefit from this event. I was not disappointed.

The variety and relevance of the breakout sessions was broad enough to 'leave them wanting more'. My supervisors were able to meet several of the breakout speakers over meals as well as network with others who do what they do. All this and a trade show too!”

— Keith S. Webb, EFP, Executive Director-Plant Services, Newport News Public Schools, Newport News, VA

“Networking Opportunities were my favorite part of Clean Buildings Expo — Building new relationships and meeting new contacts is important to me. CBE gave me the opportunity to talk to vendors and other experts, one-on-one, about what they are working on, and how to incorporate and enhance your own work.”

— Larry E. Ames, Director of Custodial Services, Virginia Beach City Public Schools

“Clean Buildings Expo was fabulous! I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people in the cleaning industry and gain great contacts! The instructors were very informative and interactive. I learned so much information from the instructors and also from the people who were selling products and services. The information that I have learned I have implemented within my systems and programs in my operation. Great, Great, Great expo. The information was life saving and will change the dynamics of my business forever. In addition, the editors and workers were fabulous and welcoming.”

— Latreece Miller, President, Miller's Touch Cleaning Inc

“While the trade show was great in it's diversity, the genius was pairing the entire event with the long standing Baltimore NFMT event! I have attended NFMT multiple times and generally make sure someone on my staff attends each year. I have attended the ISSA show several times as well. This coupling makes the time spent more enriching, and on a regional basis, more feasible for travel with more than one person.

As a long time facility executive, I cannot remember when I left a conference or trade show so enthused. I made sure to personally tell representatives of CMM and ISSA of my excitement. We are looking forward to next year.”

— Keith S. Webb, EFP, Executive Director-Plant Services, Newport News Public Schools, Newport News, VA

“One of the reasons for going to conferences is to meet with like-minded people and industry peers. CBE brings together people from all different geographical areas who share a common discipline or field, and the conference is a great way to meet new people in your field.”

— Larry E. Ames, Director of Custodial Services, Virginia Beach City Public Schools

“Clean Buildings Expo was an excellent conference - should do this every year.”

— David Christianson, Facilities Manager, Lower Kuskokewim School District

“As a small janitorial company, getting all this knowledge in one place at one time is awesome!”

— Michael Parkins, CFO & VP Business Development, Greens Commercial Cleaning

“"The 2019 Clean Buildings Expo definitely exceeded our expectations as an exhibitor, educational speaker, and gold sponsor of this event. The attendees were highly engaged, eager to learn, and passionate about finding innovative solutions for their business. We look forward to participating in this show next year!"”

— Jennifer Meek, Director of Marketing, Charlotte Products Ltd.

“This has been a phenomenal show! The attendees were engaged and actively looking for new solutions to their challenges.”

— Jill Kegler, Janitorial Manager, Toledo OH

“I was blown away by the workshop on using microfiber mops and wipes. I was a little intimidated because the industry has been pushing microfibers, but I had concerns about contamination issues. We were given some great knowledge on how to properly use them and how you can actually verify through testing to make sure you are disinfecting instead of infecting.”

— Carey Zembas, Roses Commercial Cleaning, Lewiston ME

“Gene Woodard was amazing as a knowledgeable presenter in the Employee Engagement class. His passion and suggestions for employee engagement [were] helpful. I am definitely going to use his matrix to improve our company.”

— Kim Robitaille, Roses Commercial Cleaning, Lewiston, ME

“Today we learned about safety issues and how to prevent accidents. I loved it! Really good information. Met a lot of people from all over the country. It was impactful to me to see all the exhibitors, and the fact you can talk [to them] and see how all the products really work.”

— Chelsea Johnson, Priority Solutions, Alexandria VA

“This is a great show. The networking opportunities are fantastic. I've been here today since noon and haven't even scratched the surface of what's available. It's a good environment and atmosphere.”

— Matthew Haick, Easy Plastics Container Corp.

NFMT Baltimore & Clean Buildings Expo Shows Have Been Rescheduled

The National Facilities Management and Technology (NFMT) Conference and Expo and Clean Buildings Expo (CBE) show management team wishes to express our deepest concerns for everyone impacted by the COVID-19 coronavirus. We have monitored the situation closely, and due to recent developments and facts, the NFMT and CBE shows scheduled for March 17-19 in Baltimore have been rescheduled. NFMT will now take place August 11-13 and CBE will take place August 11-12 at the Baltimore Convention Center.

We thank our attendees, exhibitors, and speakers for entrusting us to make the best decision supported by facts. Yesterday, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced that he has cancelled all out-of-state travel for all state employees and advised all state agencies to prepare all employees for telework in order to stop the spread of the COVID-19 disease. Hogan signed this emergency legislation into law on Day 5 of Maryland's coronavirus state of emergency.

"Our top priority is to serve and support our attendees and exhibitors—and protecting their health and safety is of paramount importance," said Jill McDermott, chief sales officer at Trade Press Media Group, which owns and co-owns NFMT and CBE, respectively. "We take pride in offering valuable educational opportunities, networking, and access to new products and technologies for facilities and cleaning professionals who trust NFMT and CBE to deliver on their high standards. We are excited to welcome our community to the rescheduled shows in August."

Attendee registrations and exhibitor booths will automatically transfer to the new August 11-13 show dates. Additionally, NFMT and ISSA pre- and post-event workshops will move to coincide with the August dates.

In a normal week, all of us, exhibitors, attendees and show management, would be packing up and heading to Baltimore this weekend for the NFMT and Clean Buildings Expo.

To say the least, this has been anything but a normal week.

Faced with unprecedented challenges related to COVID-19, our team has been working hard to ensure that the rescheduled NFMT 2020 and the Clean Buildings Expo meets or exceeds your expectations. Here's a few of the steps we've taken since rescheduling our events on Wednesday morning.

  • Wednesday afternoon an email notification was sent to all attendees and speakers
  • Thursday morning a follow up notification was sent to all non-openers of the Wednesday email
  • Thursday afternoon personal calls were made to thousands of registered guests.
  • All presenters were contacted via phone. More than 80% indicated that they will be participating in the August event.
  • Updates have been posted daily on the NFMT website
  • Personal calls, texts and follow up emails have been sent to all exhibitors
  • We are working with Freeman to determine how to handle warehouse freight. We will update all exhibitors as soon as we have information.

The bottom line to date: Thousands of facilities and cleaning professionals, most presenters and hundreds of exhibiting companies have confirmed their participation in the rescheduled NFMT and Clean Buildings Expo. We expect both shows to be valuable to both the facilities and cleaning professionals attending and the industry suppliers exhibiting.

Thank you for the trust and support you have in us during this dynamic time. We look forward to welcoming you to NFMT and the Clean Buildings Expo on August 11.

The Only Show Designed Specifically for Commercial Cleaning Professionals.
